The NouveauTek Remote Support Solution
What it is
NouveauTek uses our remote support application as a benefit we can provide
our valuable customers. With it we are able to, with your authorization,
provide you support services from a remote location. Why is this good?

It allows us to respond to your issues more quickly. Rather than
waiting for a person to physically show up on site, we
can remotely access your computer, and many times resolve the issue significantly
faster than is possible without remote access. Time saved is money saved.

If it's determined a site visit is needed, having first been
able to troubleshoot the problem remotely allows us to better
identify the issue before we show up. This means preliminary troubleshooting
is already done, and it helps us determine which tools and parts to bring on the job.
Once again, the remote solution has aided in a more timely resolution, while
minimizing time and money spent in the process.

It helps keep costs down. Our pricing structure is based on the
assumption that our customers allow us the option to remotely resolve
their issues whenever practical. Doing so affords us a cost savings in fuel,
equipment, and maintenance, not to mention time. These efficiences allows us to
service many more customers and improves our response times which translate
to happier customers through prompt response. It helps us keep our prices
at levels much lower than similiar services, while allowing us
to provide better service to our customers.

time visiting you when things are good, not when things are broke, everyone
is stressed, and panic ensues. We'd much rather visit when time and environment
allow us to visit, discuss, and build friendships and relationship in a relaxed
environment.
Security
Any time you authorize anyone access to your computer, you're taking a security
risk. It becomes even more critical when the access is occurring through a
publically accessible network such as the Internet. It is reasonable to ask
if your computer and your network remain safe before, during, and after this
remote connection is utilized. We appreciate and encourage questions and hope
to address your concerns effectively.
For ourselves, we have to address the same concerns as you. This remote
connection is two-way, meaning that infected or infiltrated customer resources
or the customer themselves could attempt to do us harm. With that said, rest
assured we have reviewed many options, and determined this application to
meet the needs of both ourselves and our customers, and it does so in a
reasonable and safe way.
Below lists some of the safety and security features implemented within this application.

The connection is initiated voluntarily by you through the launching of the utility you agreed to download from our website at our request.Having already discussed with us prior to initiating the connection, you have had the opportunity to determine the integrity of NouveauTek.

Successful connection requires double authentication, which is to say, it cannot be completed unless we both agree to make the connection and then act on the decision.

Either side has the ability to close the connection at any time.

When a successful connection is disconnected, the utility on your computer shuts down and the program is automatically removed from memory. No process is left running that could inadvertently cause unwanted or unauthorized connectivity to your computer.

If you launch the application, it will automatically close if no connection is made in five minutes.

We utilize up to 128 bit data encryption in our sessions. The maximum encryption utilized is based on files already on your computer as provided by Microsoft as part of your operating system. This ensures the data that travels across the Internet between us is scrambled in such a way as to make it difficult for anyone to intercept, break into, or otherwise manipulate.

This support connection does not make the respectvie computers members of a mutually shared network. The support application honors the basic premise that no unknown computer should ever be allowed to plug into your network until correct precautions are put into place to allow it.

The support application will only allow remote connection to pre-defined remote support computers. These are identified within the application as the individual connections you are provided to select from. You should not attempt to launch a connection until directed to do so by qualified NouveauTek support personnel.

As an additional benefit of the encryption process, a very specific, random, and unique key-file has to be shared between the computers wishing to connect. Without this exact and randomly generated file that we randomly and regularly change, you will be unable to connect to any remote support site that does not contain this identical file.
